Promote coexistence, seize opportunities offered by cultural diversity and eliminate prejudice and stereotypes that it can generate, are the objectives of the anti-rumor Strategy whose implementation works the City of Cartagena, and does so closely with entities and social groups in the city.
The architect responsible for this strategy, Daniel de Torres Barderi, visited today the city again to participate in the second meeting, which has opened the coordinator of Social Services, Damián Pérez Olmos, with the assistance of municipal technicians of various Concejalías and services such as Equality, Education, Social Services, Local Police and Communication, and representatives of organizations working with immigrants, especially collective sensitive subject of false rumors.
Through group dynamics and practical examples, all attendees of this meeting have been able to contribute their bit to advance actions in the near future, address to strengthen coexistence between different cultures that make up today's society cartagenera, prevent discrimination and racism and influence policies arriving mainly to specific segments, such as youth.
After the sharing of ideas, ending the day, in which they also set profiles which must be active agents to maintain this anti-rumor Strategy and the need for support from political actors to reach good port.
Remember that this innovative initiative, recognized as good practice by various institutions such as the Council of Europe and the European Commission, which is already being promoted in other Spanish and European cities, arises from the need to address the proliferation of prejudices and stereotypes about certain groups which they have become barriers to coexistence and interaction between citizens.
