The City of Cartagena has kept this afternoon a minute of silence in mourning and solidarity with the city of Brussels for the victims of the terrorist attacks this morning in different parts of the Belgian capital.
The concentration convened by the mayor, Jose Lopez, has had the presence of the Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejon, along with other councilors of the municipal government, as Francisco Calderon, Juan Pedro Torralba, Ricardo Segado, Obdulia Gómez, Isabel García, Carmen Martin and Maria Jose Soler, besides the spokespersons of the local groups, Francisco Espejo (PP), Manuel Padin (citizens) and Pilar Marcos (CTSSP) .Also municipal and public employees were citizens.
The mayor noted that any day of the year atentandos are bad news, referring to its coincidence with the celebrations of Easter.
For Lopez, the minute of silence has served to express support for European society, democracy and freedoms, frentre others who neither live or intend to live them are living in Europe.
Asked by the peridoistas the mayor seha also addressed other issues of today, such as the threat of rain during the processions, the reopening of the case Novo Carthage against Pilar Barreiro, yesterday's meeting in laFederación of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia or comprehensive protection of the Mar Menor.
