The Association of Friends of the Castillo de la Atalaya has passed this morning the president and the Regional Assembly of Murcia, Rosa Peñalver, the poor state of conservation in the Atalaya Castle is one of the defensive standards of Cartagena, which receives many visitors daily.

"It's completely abandoned. The castle is Heritage, but no competent institution does nothing. The president of the Regional Assembly of Murcia, Rosa Peñalver, has shown its support to the Association of Friends, pledging to promote a motion.

"From the Regional Assembly we will propose a parliamentary initiative to ensure the conservation of the Castillo de la Atalaya, because it is a Site of Cultural Interest deeply rooted in the feeling of Cartagena and a cultural and military weight value should not consign to oblivion" .
