From the area of ​​Culture and Heritage of the City of Cartagena it has become a quarterly depresentaciones initiative of the parts to be rehabilitated in the workshop Municipal Restoration because, as commented Councilman Archaeological Heritage, Ricardo Segado have launched a high artistic and historical value.
This morning it was the turn of presenting a wooden altar eclectic style with coffered decoration, flowers and scrolls, and topped with a papal crown made of metal and integrated between two cornucopias.
In addition, at this altar the work of the Cuban painter but based in Cartagena in the nineteenth century, Manuel Wssell Guimbarda, under the title of The Sacred Heart of Mary is located.
As he explained by the mayor, who was accompanied by the technical manager of the Department, Luis Carlos Garcia, the paintings of the Virgin shown in the Palacio Molina, has its official location in the cemetery chapel of Los Remedios, in the area known as Gospel.
To achieve this restoration began conducting a study to detect pathologies suffered by works, cleaning was done, the overpainting were removed and proceeded to the restoration work themselves for a period of three months.
