More than 6,600 voters, including students, Teachers Research (PDI) and Administration and Services (PAS) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) are summoned to elections to Rector and Senate, held tomorrow, Wednesday.
These elections concur two candidates, professors and Alejandro Diaz Leandro Juan Llácer Morcillo, both of the Department of Information Technology and Communications.
Voters will vote in nine polling stations, located on three campuses, the Rector and the University Center of Defense (CUD-AGA) in open from 10:00 to 18:00, except at the Center of San Javier, which will be from 10:30 to 14:50 hours.
Of the total 6,665 voters, 5,640 belong to the student sector;
611 of Teachers Researcher and 414 are members of the Administration and Services, according to data provided by the Electoral Board.

The university rector community chooses weighted by direct universal suffrage.
As for the weight of the votes, 51% are doctors professors from university faculty;
15% the rest of the PDI;
25% students and 9% to PAS.
Scrutiny will take place in public session and will start at the end of the vote.
Members of the Central Electoral Board shall count first corresponding to the election of Rector ballots, and then to Senate.
The Board tentatively proclaim the elected Rector before the end of the day.
After a period of claims, the final proclamation will take place on March 22.
It will be proclaimed president the candidate who obtains the proportional support of more than half of the validly cast votes, once implemented the weightings for the Statutes of the UPCT.
Candidatures to Senate
On the other hand, the university community elect the new Senate.
The highest representative body of the University shall consist of a maximum of 300 members, representing different groups of the university community.
