The second edition of the conference Attention to Vulnerable Persons Settlements and Homeless took place last Saturday, March 12, at the premises of Cartagena Red Cross with a series of lectures and roundtables to discuss with the help of professionals the problems of the homeless.
In the opening ceremony was attended by the Councillor for Social Services, Carmen Martin;
President of the Regional Assembly of Cartagena Red Cross, Gabriel Ruiz;
and the regional director of Emergency Social Spanish Red Cross in Murcia and responsible Settlement Project, Mariza Gomez.
The day began with a talk on the methodology and results of the Settlement Projects Red Cross Mazarrón and Cartagena.
After this exhibition, from the Service Transients and Homeless of the Department of Social Services City of Cartagena, he unveiled the work being done with Social Emergency Units.
Then intervened responsible for Red Cross in Cieza to discuss his work with settlements of seasonal workers, the Lorca Red Cross addressed the issue of the cold wave and heat wave with the homeless, and meanwhile, Murcia responsible for Red Cross spoke of the Christmas season and the cold wave.
To conclude there was a round table that discussed the work with the homeless, and in the intervening responsible for Caritas Cartagena, ACCEM, La Huertecica and CEPAIM.
The closing of the day was delcoordinador charge of Social Services City of Cartagena, Damián Pérez Olmos.
