The XXIII edition of the Half Marathon City of Cartagena, Memorial Gregorio Lorente Rosas, was held this Sunday, March 6, on a tour that brought together participants in the street Ronda de La Union and that took them to a circuit of 21.097 km and another 10,600 km depending on the distance chosen by athletes.
The cartagenero Alberto Gonzalez was the first to enter the track, rather than the goal in which hundreds of people waited in a festive atmosphere encouraging runners.
The podium was completed by Raul Guevara and Jose Carlos Caparrós, while in the female category the victory was taken by the British Rachael Rozhdestvenskaya.
The Councillor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, was commissioned to give the go-ahead to start the test and make awards at the end of the day, which ended with a paella organized by athletic clubs.
In addition, the Media Marathon was widely safety device which included thirty agents of the local police, five doctors, six ambulances, twenty masseurs and forty volunteers from the University.
Neither the cold air and the wind stopped the over 1,600 runners who participated in this trial that has enjoyed the cooperation of the City of Cartagena and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, as well as various associations and companies committed to the sport in the city .
