Evaluators of the European Union that are now analyzing the actions carried out in the European project for the conservation of garbancillo of Tallante have highlighted the social support for this initiative led by the School of Agriculture of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
"They have managed to push through a plant that was believed missing and do it in collaboration with local agents for which has no function.
It is spectacular 'Plant of the Year' and how people support their conservation, "said Dorte Pardo López, manager in Spain of Life nature projects.
The disclosure has been one of the pillars of the conservation project, during which created the Entity Land Stewardship Conservation Garbancillo Tallante (ECUGA), which will ensure the continuity of conservation efforts of this plant.
The custodian also seeks the conservation of all natural, architectural and cultural west of Cartagena through the involvement of multidisciplinary collective resources.
EU evaluators also visit the greenhouses today Agrifood Experimental Station Thomas Ferro and different volcanic hills of Tallante and the Ports of Santa Barbara, where they have done work for the introduction of species.
To end the day, at 19:30 will take place at the premises of the neighborhood association of Tallante a small act of recognition to individuals, associations and organizations that have actively collaborated with the project.
Exhibition luminaire
Coinciding with the final visit of the evaluators, the School of Architecture and Building UPCT inaugurated this afternoon an exhibition inspired by the garbancillo of Tallante and performed by students of the subject of lighting technology and energy efficiency, which provides Gemma Vázquez lights in the degree in Architecture.
In the same space they will also exhibit the work performed last year students of the subject Project I, also on the degree in architecture and taught Patricia Reus and Jaume Blancafort, with the design of an interpretation center in Tallante in collaboration they performed within the conservation project of Tallante garbancillo.
