The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), within its program promoting sustainable mobility Vice President for Infrastructure, Equipment and Sustainability, has acquired 10 electric pedal-assist bicycles that have been delivered to the various centers and some of the administrative units , to facilitate travel between campus daily made.
Electric bikes have been developed and manufactured by Outheway Intermediates Engineering Ltd., a company which is constituted by three graduates of the School of Industrial Engineering that were forged in the Formula Student racing team.
The bike, which has been customized with the corporate image of the UPCT, is equipped with an electric motor on the front wheel 250 w power, and has 5 selectable levels of assistance through a display installed on the handlebars and can reach a maximum speed of 25 km / h, with a range of over 40 km thanks to its lithium battery in any conventional outlet.
Some of the units acquired are collapsible for easy transport inside buildings.
