The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, has participated this morning in a meeting, along with the Minister of Public Works of the CARM, Francisco Barnabas, and the first mayors of San Javier, San Javier and Los Alcázares: Visitation Martinez, José Miguel Luengo and Anastasio Bastida, respectively.
The reason for the meeting was the planning of actions to be taken within the framework of the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI) of the Mar Menor.
In addition to deepening strategic issues as zero on the Mar Menor dumping or construction of storm tanks, it has been predicted that, in order to prevent illegal moorings, the Mar Menor have seven areas of daily access for boats.
Thus, users can house the boat, go sailing and take him back to his residence.
In this regard, it has been informed of the imminent award of the recruitment of the drafting of creating these access areas.
It has also been reported that progress is made ​​in the drafting of the Integrated Management Strategy, crucial to plan and coordinate the measures contained in the ITI element.
An upcoming workshop to be held on Thursday February 25 in Cartagena and in which more than 100 experts in the region will serve to draw the first conclusions to be studied and addressed to the realization of the final document.
The ITI is a management tool that, through funds and programs from various sources, applied on any one target.
In this case, as a priority, it is intended to stop discharges into the salt lake, eradicate illegal moorings and promote a development plan for sustainable economic activity, as well as improved transport and mobility.
