A tapestry of 2 x 14 meters is the result of Lágrimas Negras, a project that reaches the Luzzy in order to claim the defense of human rights of women.
The opening of the exhibition showing the work of art will be held on March 1 at 18:00 in the Cultural Center and will be available until March 15.
Alejandra Corral (Kusha), author and director of the project, has had the participation of 2,245 women from 46 countries to create the tapestry, which has a centerpiece depicting a woman lying on a bench to which he stopped his heart. this piece, we have added 1,896 small tapestries depicting tears shed by women, whose human rights are violated every day.
The project aims to contribute through art to the awareness and social transformation. To cotnribuir to the cause, all profits raised by the project will be donated to Project Hope and Amaranta Foundation fighting against trafficking in women in Spanish territory and against sexual slavery of girls in Asia.
To create the tapestry technique used petit point, combined with others such as cross stitch.
Project management is carried out by the non-profit association Art and Social Consciousness, constituted to ensure financial transparency of the project and the legal protection of the work.
The project has received initial funding of 5,000 euros to which you have been adding their own contributions of participants in procurement of material.
