The Municipal School Board met on Wednesday in plenary meeting under the Presidency of the Council Education, Josefa Maroto, to analyze the current School Calendar 2010/11 and approve the three-eligible non-school days that body in the municipality of Cartagena .
These days, approved unanimously by the full Board, is the October 11, 2010, on 7 January 2011 to March 7, 2011, and their choice is taken into account the extension time allocation for the three quarters of course (63 school days in the first 69 in the second and 43 in the third), and the desirability of teaching within the eligible dates, paying particular attention to the view that the days of bridge can provide a low student achievement and also , be a cause of school absenteeism.
This proposal will be raised now to final approval by the General Directorate for the region. It should be noted that some schools in certain councils of the municipality may request a change in one of these days by the Festivity of the population, change must also be approved by the Directorate General of Department.
