The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and the Port Authority chairman, Adrian à ngel Viudes, today signed a cooperation agreement, in line with that already signed 10 years ago and has come to an end, but in greater amounts, whereby the port authority undertakes to make an annual financial contribution for the acquisition of vehicles and equipment and the training of firemen Cartagena and in return, they provide their services in preventing and extinguishing fires in the Port.
The agreement was signed for the next 5 years, will increase the contribution of the Port Authority, 60,000 to 85,000 euros a year for acquisition of vehicles, you have to add 40,000 euros in total for specific training in firefighting and hazardous materials.
For its part, the Fire Department will serve to prevent and extinguish fires in the port and assist in the control of other emergencies, integrated in the Intervention Group under the Emergency Plan ports.
Barreiro stressed the importance of this agreement that, through the investment to purchase new fire fighting vehicles (four to date) and specific training for the staff of six (Service of Fire Fighting and Rescue), puts our firefighters among the best prepared in the country.
For the president of the Port Authority, this is an agreement that benefits both parties and the economic effort is worthwhile as it reverts to the port itself, which over the next five years will be well served by the best fire service.
Remember that, as a result of the previous agreement between both institutions, the six recently bought a new vehicle fire pump light urban, with the latest technology to facilitate the work of extinguishing fires in city firemen.
