The Cross and Icon which John Paul II gave in 1984 to youth and, since then, it moves through countries and continents, reached by boat today, at 16.30 hours at the docks of St. James in St. Lucia to be the focus of an event that was organized by the Youth Ministry of Cartagena and has the support of the City of Cartagena, which is represented in the events of this afternoon by the Social Care Councillor, Antonio Calderon.
This religious symbol, which was a gift from Pope John Paul II to young people, is to preside over the celebration of World Youth Conference to be held in 2011 in Madrid, but before through the streets of our city and then the cross and icon will be presented to the vicarage of Mar Menor.
In the events of this afternoon is expected to be involved religious schools Cartagena, parishes, Holy Week brotherhoods and religious and priests.
WILL CROSS THE CITY
Once the Cross and Icon landed in St. Lucia and the holding of a profession of faith in the parish of St. James about 5 pm, begin a procession with the following route:
Pina de Santa Lucia, Paseo de las Delicias Plaza Bastarreche, Rector UPCT, San Diego, Plaza de la Merced, Plaza Roldan, Cypress, Serreta, Iglesia de la Caridad, Artillery Park, Plaza López Pinto, San Juan, Juan Fernandez, Franciscans, Los Juncos, San Fulgencio parish, Trafalgar Street roundabout, Carmen Conde, Felix Marti Alpera, Dr. Valencia, Burgos and gate of Charity Hospital.
In the course of it, by way of Via Crucis, a rosary will be said, ending the acts with the celebration of the Eucharist.
