| The festival brings together a score of authors in Cartagena with the aim of showing that the reality of crime is much cruder than fiction | On September 9, 10 and 11, the El Batel Auditorium in Cartagena will host the celebration of the seventh edition of Cartagena Negra, a festival of black, police and mystery literature.
Within the program promoted by the City Council, 18 authors are going to meet, the main ones on the national literary scene. Cartagena Negra will hold three reading clubs, presentations of two novels, three round tables, and a screening of the three short films that have been finalists.
As well as enjoying the short film by Mabel Lozano on the 11th: Biography of the corpse of a woman, awarded with a Goya.
The director will do a discussion taking advantage of the projection.
The work captures the harsh reality of slavery suffered by trafficked women. The contest has been presented this Thursday at the City Hall by the mayor of Culture David Martínez, and the director of Cartagena Negra, Paco Martín.
The councilor has recommended to the public that they go to see the documentary by Mabel Lozano, as well as that they participate in the programmed activities.
In addition, he highlighted that organizers and the City Council managed to keep these days alive last year, adapting to the health situation. For his part, the director explained that Cartagena Negra is trying this year to collect the reality of the crime.
