| The Department has carried out more than 120 workshops in 15 different centers of the municipality within its Educational Programs for the Promotion of Equality and the Prevention of Violence of Gender so far this year | The Department of Equality, led by councilor David Martínez Noguera, has launched a new workshop on Prevention of Sexual Violence on the Networks, responding to the social demand of educational centers. As the mayor has indicated, “the objective of this new workshop is for young people to understand that sexuality on the Internet is far from what are egalitarian healthy sexual practices, while analyzing the impact that their actions have on the networks both personally and for third parties ”. Likewise, this workshop aims to make it easier for young people to identify those behaviors that may be violent or dangerous when using new technologies and to know their cyber rights. “This workshop is part of the Educational Programs for the Promotion of Equality and the Prevention of Gender Violence that from the council are taught both in Primary and Secondary Education centers.
These programs began in November 2020 and more than 120 workshops have already been held in 15 different educational centers, reaching more than 2,000 male and female students, and are also taught by professionals who are specialists in Equal Opportunities, ”explained the councilor. In addition, the Department of Equality offers the possibility of training and advice for teachers on issues related to the workshops, so that they can provide them to their students, and about their emotional health. The programs have been divided into two large blocks, the first of which is the Program for the Promotion of Equality in the School Environment, focused on Infant and Primary students and which includes: - 'Iguales', co-educational intervention of egalitarian values ??in the form of a workshop for Early Childhood Education courses. - Non-sexist and non-violent toys and games workshop. - Workshop 'Resolving conflicts'. - Workshop on equality and co-responsibility. - Diversity workshop: 'Cajón flamenco'. - Workshop 'What music do we listen to?'. Regarding the workshops included in the second block, Educational Program for the Promotion of Equality and the prevention of gender violence in young people, it has a team of specialist technicians to develop a series of educational actions and thus promote changes in the gender relations that make it possible to review these stereotypes and discriminatory behaviors that promote and hinder progress in building a more egalitarian society.
