| The Local Government Board approves consultations to launch two channels to modify the ordinances in order to adapt these businesses to current demand | The Local Government Board, meeting today under the presidency of the Deputy Mayor, Noelia Arroyo, has approved today, at the request of the Councilor for the Commerce Area and Second Deputy Mayor, Manuel Padín, the opening of two participatory processes through public consultation, with those that the Cartagena City Council initiates the procedure for the modification of the Press Kiosk and Market ordinances, which affect the Santa Florentina and Gisbert supply squares. Padín has positively valued the start of these participatory processes to promote the Santa Florentina market and the launch of the municipality's current newsstands, since most of them are currently closed. In statements after the Governing Board, the councilor pointed out that the Consistory wants to boost the municipal food market by favoring the installation of new businesses that diversify and make the available offer more attractive.
“We are going to adapt the ordinances to the current times, so we are going to open the wording of the new regulations to public exposure.
We are taking many ideas to give a new style to the market ”, has indicated the mayor. Regarding the kiosks, the mayor has indicated that it seeks to further open the traditional press service that they offered, offering the possibility for sellers to offer other services that are more profitable and attractive for citizens and visitors.
"From the Council of Commerce it was already seen that it was necessary for the tourism and commercial issue to find the solution so that these businesses could re-emerge, since by selling press they cannot survive," concluded the head of the Commerce Area. The consultations, in which citizens and entities will be able to express their opinion and make proposals, will be carried out soon for an approximate period of one month, so that later the municipal technical services finalize the corresponding drafts. In another order of things, the Governing Board has approved a collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure for the execution of activities and actions by the City of Cartagena within the EDUSI La Manga Abierta 365 Strategy and which will be aimed at employment plans and seasonally adjusted supply during the years 2021 and 2022. Finally, and among other matters, the agreement recently reached with the union organizations on the special RED dedication regime for the Municipal Brigades service and the Fire Extinguishing and Rescue Service (SEIS) during the years 2021 has also been approved.
