| Enrique Pérez: "Political decisions denying actions produce more accidents and growing insecurity" | The Cartagena formation MC will take to the next municipal plenary session, which will be held on the 28th of this month, an initiative to seek the consensus of the Corporation and demand that the regional government consider investments in the regional budgets and in the successive ones of the rest of the legislature necessary for the reduction and elimination of accidents at various points on regionally owned highways.
These actions would focus on the RM-F36, with the doubling of at least the six-kilometer section from La Palma to Torre Pacheco and the fitting out of a roundabout at the intersection of the T12-2-3 service road, in addition to other works attached to its platform; the reinforcement of the road surface on the RM-602, on the Miranda route on the border with Fuente Álamo, as well as that of the RM-E16 from La Aljorra to San Isidro, to continue with the action plan for new roundabouts at points such as the E-22 at its access to Galifa and Portús, on the RM-F54 at the height of El Carmolí and, finally, that the Consistory and CARM reactivate the project regarding the North access of Cartagena from Venta Valero in a Fast track that connects with Torre Pacheco and decongests the internal traffic of the RM-311, as it passes through the municipalities of Pozo Estrecho and La Palma.
The improvement of the regional road network is a historical claim of MC given the year-by-year increase in the accident rate in the nearly 275 kilometers that make up said network, corresponding to the autonomous administration both maintenance and conservation and other related issues to traffic regulation, signaling, etc.
Constant defaults "For the umpteenth time we will bring to the plenary session the breaches that the regional government maintains with Cartagena in the matter of roads; political decisions that compromise the safety of our neighbors and neighboring municipalities and that, unfortunately, sometimes cost lives.
That is the value that we want to address this problem and hence our concern and claim ", has argued Pérez.
In line with this statement, the mayor has specified that the 'carelessness' of the regional government acquires special relevance given the more than "275 kilometers of roads whose competence in maintenance and conservation, as well as updating in terms of road safety and regulation of the traffic, depends on San Esteban ".
Sliding 'sine die' projects "Year after year, this lack of initiatives causes the accident rate to increase.
Despite this, the promised investments do not arrive and become entangled in the administrative demagoguery of the slippage of projects from budget to budget.
This has caused the regional government to accumulate the duties with Cartagena ", has specified Enrique Pérez.
More specifically, the Cartagena councilor has emphasized "the four roads that connect the north of the municipality with the neighboring towns of Torre Pacheco and Fuente Álamo.
They are RM F-36, 35, 602 and 605 that, daily, they support the transit of users who go to work in the industrial and agricultural activities settled there.
Workers who have to endure and suffer deficiencies in their daily journey that multiply the danger due to the road surface, drains, shoulders, etc.
" Accident concentration point Pérez added that, every day, more than 38,000 vehicles travel on these roads.
One of them, the F36, has become one of its sections in one of the main accident concentration points in the regional territory, without having implemented the measures to put an end to this problem through the doubling, at least, in the six km stretch from La Palma to Torre Pacheco.
Finally, and in order to "avoid excuses that already sound familiar to us, we suggest that these investments be undertaken during the next fiscal year and in successive years until the end of the legislature.
But that San Esteban goes from unfulfilled promises to the execution of works necessary and urgent ".
