| Novels must meet only three requirements: be written in Spanish and published in Spain, be black themed and have been published in 2020 | The Cartagena Negra crime and mystery novel days opens the selection process for the novels that will compete for the V Cartagena Negra Novel Prize and the III Icue Negro Novel Prize, the latter for novels or newcomers in the genre.
The novels must meet only three requirements: be written in Spanish and published in Spain, be black themed and have been published in 2020.
All those crime novels written in Spanish that have been published in Spain during the cited year 2020. During the first six months of 2021, the organizers of the conference will proceed to the selection of the finalist works.
At the end of June 2021, the list of said finalists will be made public and the ruling will be communicated during the days of the VII edition of Cartagena Negra.
The team responsible for the festival will be in charge of choosing the winning novel. In the previous edition, the IV Cartagena Negra Novel Prize went to Marto Pariente, thanks to 'La sanity del idiota', and the II Icue Negro Novel Prize went to Jon Aramendía, for 'El demonio de Laplace'.
These two awards intend to pay tribute to the black literature that is made in our country, as well as to recognize the merit of the many and very good authors who practice it and are helping to enhance the genre, whether they are known or newcomers.
