Jess Gimnez: "Parliament is also from Cartagena and complies with the preventive protocols of COVID" This morning a telematic meeting of the Board of Spokespersons of the Cartagena City Council was held.
During the session, in which the deputy spokesperson for MC, Jess Gimnez, aware of a report on safety conditions issued by the City Council's Occupational Risk Prevention Service in relation to the holding of plenary sessions in the City Hall.
In this regard, and after concluding the session, the deputy spokesperson of the Municipal Group MC, Jess Gimnez, has indicated that "the mayor has informed us this morning at the Board of Spokespersons that it is impossible to hold Plenary in the Plenary Hall of the City Hall, according to a report from the Department of Occupational Risk Prevention of the City Council ".
Faced with this situation, the mayor announced that "MC has proposed that the municipal plenary session of January 28, as well as the successive ones in this stage of the pandemic, be held in the Patio de las Comarcas of the Regional Assembly.
The location is also for all Cartagena citizens and complies with all the measures, since a protocol has been established for the celebration of the sessions of the regional Chamber, which 45 deputies attend, in such a way that there is nothing that makes it impossible to celebrate with 27 councilors ".
Gimnez pointed out that "the Government has willingly accepted this proposal and has committed to studying it.
We hope that this will allow the council members to continue representing Cartagena without limitation." Proposal covered by the regulation of the plenary session The initiative argued by Gimnez is based on the organic regulation of the Plenary and the regulation of organization, operation and legal regime of local entities, given the impossibility of holding the plenary session in the usual room (located in the City Hall), and in order to comply with preventive measures against COVID-19.
