| The new company Bemyvega, made up mostly of researchers and graduates of the UPCT, develops a device for people with visual and / or hearing disabilities can follow the classes | The Bemyvega company, promoted by the professors of the School of Industrial Engineering Antonio S�nchez K�iser and Roque Torres S�nchez, has been awarded in the Entrepreneur of the Month Awards of the Murcia Institute of Development for its solutions to problems created by the pandemic.� Bemyvega develops a device created by S�nchez K�iser, Professor of Fluid Mechanics at the UPCT, � which allows to follow the classes of the college, institute, university or conferences to the � people with visual or hearing disabilities, both in person and via streaming .� The company has been created with a social purpose: â € œhelp all people have access to knowledge on equal terms, â € ?? says S�nchez K�iser.

If it generates benefits, it will mostly "go to groups that work in areas related to disability," he adds. Bemyvega was born in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

It arose to help the group of people with visual and hearing disabilities, and facilitate their access to knowledge "under equal conditions, something that despite being a need and a right, in many cases is not a reality", emphasizes the Professor at the Universidad Polit�cnica de Cartagena. It all started, according to Sánchez K�iser, six years ago when her daughter Vega was born with oculocutaneous albinism, a genetic condition that affects her ability to see.

"I started to move and go to congresses in Sweden, Italy and other countries looking for a way for her to see better," he recalls.� The device allows Vega, who is already 2nd grade in Primary, to continue her classes and sit in the last rows with her friends despite having 4% vision.

And like her, other children. The origin of the company, therefore, is family.

S�nchez K�iser and his wife, M�nica Hern�ndez, both engineers; his sister Mar�a Dolores, professor at the Mariano Baquero IES in Murcia, � a person very involved in social projects.

Professor Roque Torres, from the Department of Automation, Electrical Engineering and Technology, joined the project attracted by its social fund.� Francisco Nicol�s also collaborates actively P�rez, an industrial engineer from the UPCT, who works in the company Lynx Simulations SL, formed by graduates of the Polit�cnica.

Another former student of the Polit�cnica de Cartagena, Antonio Albero Ortiz, Telecommunications engineer, participates in the web design.

In addition, Miriam Villena Abell�n, mother of a girl with low vision, is part of the team.
