| The Agency for Local Development and Employment participates in the European program ECCIPA together with several Italian and German entities | Cartagena, through the Agency for Local Development and Employment, participates in the European project ECCIPA to strengthen intercultural skills in public administration, which is part of the ERASMUS + program. The project, whose main objective is to improve the skills of municipal technicians in intercultural issues, is carried out together with German and Italian towns and entities. ECCIPA, which will end in May 2023, will have a duration of 30 months and has a financing of 248,993 euros. Together with ADLE, they participate in the Pro Arbeit â € “Kreis Offenback project (Germany), the Consortium Comunit� Brianza Societ� Cooperativa Social (Italy), the municipality of Ravenna (Italy) and ACCEM (Cartagena). In this way, the program will be developed in different phases, which begin with the review and analysis of the needs of the officials involved in the integration of migrants and refugees at different levels. After this first phase, the second will consist of the co-design of the training program based on the results of the review of the city and the technical partners, with the support of the cities.
Thus, the training program aimed at city personnel involved in welcoming and supporting services to migrants will be jointly designed. The third phase of the project will consist of the implementation of the training program, which will be carried out both locally and internationally and will last 12 months.
For this, the selected students will participate in face-to-face and online learning sessions. The fourth phase will be based on promotion and sustainability.
Following the implementation of the training program and the results of its evaluation, the participants will develop local strategies for the integration of third-country nationals, focused on empowerment, improvement of competencies and capacity development of civil servants and public personnel. Finally, the fifth and last phase of ECCIPA will consist of the diffusion and awareness in each participating country. â € œCartagena, a pioneer city and leader in interculturality, integration and development.
