The Deputy Mayor and Councilor of the Trade Area, Manuel Pad n, participated this Tuesday in the awards ceremony of the first edition of the Nativity Scene Contest in shops, organized by the campus of the Catholic University of San Antonio (UCAM) in Cartagena, in collaboration with the City Council.
The jury of the contest has determined that the winner of the first prize, endowed with 300 euros, is the nativity scene located in the Toni Modas shop window, at number 12 on Ronda Ferrol street. The nativity set installed by the El Paso de Los Elefantes restaurant, in San Ant n, has won the second prize, endowed with 200 euros; while the third prize, 150 euros, went to Belisa Complementos, in San Fernando street. The jury of the contest has highlighted the first two classifieds for their large size and the large number of biblical scenes and resources used. In addition, an extraordinary jury award has also been awarded to the La Milla Commercial Area for being the association with the most participants in the contest. Likewise, the contest has also awarded recognition to the best nativity scene assembled by individuals, the winner being Mar a del Valle N ñez.
The prize is endowed with a check for 200 euros to spend in the establishments that have competed. The deputy mayor thanked the UCAM for the opportunity to participate in the City Council to participate in "a contest that seeks to ensure that traditions are not lost and that has helped to boost the commercial sector, which is going through a difficult situation." The councilor has extended his hand to the institution to continue collaborating in future editions of the event so that the interest of merchants and individuals in it continues to grow.
