| The Josefina Soria, Rafael Rubio and Alfonso Carri n Ingl s libraries now offer a modernized and easily sanitized appearance, with new chairs, tables, blinds and shelves | The Municipal Library Network of Cartagena has renewed part of its furniture to modernize and adapt the spaces to the needs of users.
Thus, the Department of Culture, Youth and Equality, led by David Mart nez Noguera, has promoted the renovation of the furniture in the Josefina Soria libraries, at the Ram n Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, the Rafael Rubio Library , in Los Dolores, and the Alfonso Carri n Ingl s library, in Pozo Estrecho. Specifically, in the Josefina Soria library, changes have been made to the consultation area, where all the tables and chairs have been renovated, replacing the old ones with nine tables with white board and an aluminized metal structure, as well as 40 chairs.
new. In addition, a two-meter-long rectangular table with a metal structure has been added to facilitate group work while maintaining a safe distance.
The shelves and blinds in the living room have also been changed, which are now motorized and follow a modernized line, allowing light to pass through. On the other hand, the Rafael Rubio library has renovated the furniture in the adult room.
Thus, the study and consultation tables have been replaced by modern and functional tables, just as the chairs have been replaced by others with a polypropylene seat and back and a metal structure that allow perfect cleaning and disinfection.
Specifically, two rectangular and seven round tables have been arranged with the corresponding chairs. As for Alfonso Carri n's Galilean library, most of the changes have been made in the children's room, with the aim of offering small users a comfortable, hygienic and pleasant space that invites the reading.
For this reason, the old tables and chairs have been replaced by three square tables with an off-white board and a metallic structure and 16 polypropylene chairs in various colors, which allow better cleaning.
In addition, all the blinds in the two rooms have been renovated and modernized. “We are committed to renovating our spaces to adapt to the needs of users and in 2021 we will continue working to finish with the modernization of the furniture in our libraries.
Thus, the Josefina Soria library now offers a more modernized look and the Rafael Rubio library has completed its renovation with changes to the adult room.
The children's room of this library was already adapted to the needs of the little ones and now it was the turn of the older ones ”, recalled David Mart nez Noguera. “Finally, in the Alfonso Carri n Ingl s library we have undertaken changes in the children's room, which needed a renovation of its furniture, in addition to changing all the blinds in the two rooms”, remarked the councilor.
