| The budget for these works exceeds one million euros and will be carried out between June and September | The Department of Education has put out to tender the works to eliminate fiber cement from different structures in five schools in the municipality: Virgen del Carmen, Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores, La Concepci n, San Isidoro and Cartago. The total budget for these works amounts to 1,131,501 euros (VAT included) and the execution period begins next June 18 and ends on September 3, 2021 with the aim of taking advantage of the summer holidays and guaranteeing that students are not in educational centers. "The tender was called in January with the aim that all administrative procedures have been resolved in advance enough to guarantee that the works can be carried out during the summer months, avoiding possible delays, since the works have to be carried out when there are neither students nor teachers in the educational centers ”, explained the Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz. With the suppression of fiber cement in these five schools, there will already be 7 centers in which the Department of Education will have eliminated this element, since the works have already been carried out in Antonio Ulloa and Santa Florentina . In parallel, the Ministry of Education is also carrying out works to eliminate fiber cement from other educational centers.
