| The Council has already begun to distribute among the troops the last shipment of 54 units in which 33,183 euros have been invested | The Department of Citizen Security has begun this week to distribute among the members of the Local Police the last consignment of bulletproof vests that it has acquired, with which the provision of this equipment is completed for all of the agents who patrol the streets of the municipality of Cartagena. The acquisition of these last 54 bulletproof vests has involved an investment of 33,183 euros.

The councilor of the area, Juan Pedro Torralba, recalled that at the beginning of this year 2020 a total of 105 new bulletproof vests were delivered to the members of the Local Police “and with the arrival of this new consignment the the entire workforce of street agents ”. The improvements in the equipment of the Local Police of Cartagena "are a priority for this municipal government and the best proof of this is that, throughout this year we have allocated more than 200,000 euros to renew the costumes and equip them of all the necessary materials so that they could carry out their invaluable work in the best possible conditions.

We are fully aware that in order for the police to be effective in their work, we must guarantee their safety, ”said Torralba.
