| The municipal government will soon specify the possible locations with the sector | The City Council of Cartagena has declared the celebration of weddings on the beaches of the municipality of Local Tourist Interest, as a necessary step to request authorization from the State Coast.

The declaration, made by decree of the mayor, recalls that Cartagena has a consolidated hospitality sector willing to provide innovative and sustainable services and that the celebration of civil weddings in urban sections of the beaches could add an attraction that justifies the declaration of interest that Costas considers as cause of authorization. Mayor Ana Bel n Castej n recalled that the Coastal Law allows the holding of events of tourist interest with time limits and occupancy space, always in urban sections and ensuring maintenance from the beach and no impact on the environment.

"The celebration of weddings on beaches will become a very important tourist attraction for our municipality and from the City Council we are going to do everything in its power to promote this sector," he said. The municipal government will soon bring together representatives of the sectors benefited by this activity to study concrete proposals, as well as a program of actions that allows determining the most convenient locations and uses that will be proposed to the Administration.

Once the holding of concerts in these establishments has been ruled out, the Government has requested that both the extension of the concession period be studied to extend the season, as well as the extraordinary extension of the usable surface while there are limitations of capacity imposed by the health authority.
