| This new infrastructure has 335 square meters distributed over two floors and the first green roof of the municipality | The residents of El Llano del Beal have seen this Monday, December 28, another of their oldest demands fulfilled with the opening of their new multipurpose premises, a space that has 335 square meters distributed on two floors and that has been raised on the site that the old local medical office used to occupy. The mayor of Cartagena Ana Bel n Castej n recalled that the opening of this place “makes me especially excited because one of the first inaugurations that I had the honor of doing as mayor was that of the medical right in the building next door and today we are witnessing the opening of the new multipurpose center built precisely on the site of the old office ”. In addition to the mayor, the opening of the property was attended by the vice mayor Noelia Arroyo, the deputy mayor Manuel Padón, the mayor of Decentralization, Diego Ortega, the district councilor, Cristina P rez, the counselor of the Presidency, Javier Celdr n, the president of the Municipal Neighborhood Board, Carmen Soto, and the president of the El Llano del Beal Neighborhood Association, Antonio Vidal. The construction of the new premises has been carried out through the Neighborhood and County Council Plan that the regional government recovered, at the request of the first mayor of Cartagena, and which has had an investment of 358,437 euros.

In addition, the City Council has taken over the furniture, acquired for a value of 15,388.78 euros. The ground floor of the building has 4 offices, 2 meeting rooms, 2 toilets and 1 cleaning room, while the first floor has 3 meeting rooms, 1 more office, 2 toilets and 1 storage room. One of the characteristics that make this property special and different is that it is the first in the municipality to have a green roof terrace on its upper floor.

It is a kind of urban garden with native plants that serve as a natural insulator from both heat and cold. Castej n explained that “this space was prepared last year but we had to leave it due to the pandemic.

Now, she is going to recover and from the San Gin s de la Jara school they have shown interest in taking care of her care as a complementary activity for schoolchildren ”.
