CCOO CARTAGENA joins the request made yesterday by the Governing Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena requesting more budget from the Government of the Autonomous Community UPCT budgets have had to be reduced for the first time in 6 years due to lack of support from the regional government The regional delegation of CCOO in Cartagena, through its representative in the Social Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, has learned yesterday that the UPCT has been forced for the first time in six years to present a reduced budget for 2021, specifically with a 1.7% cut compared to the previous year. CCOO Cartagena joins the claim that the Governing Council of the UPCT made yesterday requesting more budgetary aid from the Government of the Autonomous Community through a financing plan multi-year.
It is a real distress call that we understand from CCOO that the government of Fernando L pez Miras is obliged to attend. At CCOO Cartagena we cannot understand that the regional government of the Autonomous Community, always so attentive to the requirements of the Murcian private university, leaves this request of a public university in Cartagena unattended, which is fundamental for the development of both the Cartagena region and the Murcia region. From CCOO Cartagena we have been demanding a change in the production model that reinforces and empowers the industrial sector in the Cartagena region and in the Murcia region.
In the opinion of this union, the UPCT is a fundamental tool to achieve this objective and we urge the regional government to redouble its efforts and not allow the UPCT budget to be reduced in the coming years due to lack of aid.
