These unfortunate events happen again and again while the General Directorate of Cultural Assets does not initiate a sanctioning proceeding and limits itself to issuing resolutions that Inmobiliaria Vano fails to comply with with impunity.

But on this occasion the company has incurred a very serious offense by failing to comply with the execution orders of the General Directorate of Cultural Property with damage to the Historical Heritage, in accordance with article 75.

c of Law 4/2007 on Cultural Heritage of the Region of Murcia.

In addition, the resolution of July 12, 2019 required a perimeter wall to prevent access to the BIC and this has finally been replaced by a metal fence with holes that does not prevent the intrusion of large groups of people, minors included.

An inventory of maintenance tasks was also required in the aforementioned resolution and in the 2015 resolution and we are aware that the reports have not been presented by the company at any time.

Likewise, the 2019 resolution requested immediately the processing of a procedure to justify that the BIC continues to be closed to the public, in breach of this Law 4/2007 on Cultural Heritage of the Region of Murcia.

Finally, it was also stated in the resolution of a year and a half ago that the necessary procedures would begin immediately before the Cartagena City Council, for the viability of the restoration.

For all the above, the Virgen de la Caridad Platform requests immediate inspection of the monument (article 70) by the technical services in order to verify the events reported in the first part of this letter and the opening immediate sanctioning proceedings for a very serious infraction (article 75.c) if these are considered proven.
