The Plenary of the Social Council of the UPCT held on December 22, 2020 has approved the budget of the educational institution for 2021, which for the first time since 2015 is reduced compared to the previous year.
The UPCT will have a total budget of 62.8 million euros in the next fiscal year, 1.7% less than in 2020. These budgets imply that the Cartagena Policy is forced to cut its investment and research plans, and put at risk the project agreed by the European Commission for which the UPCT would participate in the future University European Technology. All the members of the Plenary of the Social Council held this morning have shown their full support for the budgetary demands of the UPCT and urged the autonomous authorities to defend the future of an institution that is essential for economic progress.
