| The mayor, the vice mayor and the deputy mayor have visited the Santa Luc a hospital today, together with the president of the Autonomous Community of the unit and thank the professionals for their efforts | The mayor Ana Bel n Castej n, the deputy mayor Noelia Arroyo, the deputy mayor Manuel Pad n and the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando L pez Miras, have witnessed this morning the good functioning of the Hemodin service This is the one that, since November 16, has been running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, thus responding to a historical demand from Cartagena society. The start-up of the 24-hour service has also led to the hiring of 13 new workers, with the incorporation of 2 physicians with a hemodynamic profile, 5 nurses with an interventional profile, 3 care technicians as an auxiliary of nurse (TCAE), 2 guards and 1 administrative, which brings the unit's health personnel to 25. “This morning we have once again verified the professionalism, affection and care with which the health workers of the Santa Luc a Hospital who make up this unit work every day, which has doubled the number of professionals.
That is why I want to thank their good work and that of all the health workers of the Murcian Health Service, which has been essential to carry out this action, with which we comply with a commitment from both the regional and municipal governments ”, affirmed Castej n. Thus, on behalf of the entire municipal corporation, the first mayor thanked all the staff of this unit for their work, those who have joined and those who were already part of the service because, "despite the tension to which the health system is being subjected, they have been trained and prepared to offer the best service to the people of Cartagena ”. As the president of the Community recalled, since the expansion of this service, a total of 23 people have been treated at the Santa Luc a Hospital, who only a month ago would have had to be transferred to Arrixaca. The mayor highlighted that “despite the fact that we are in a very complicated situation, in the middle of a brutal pandemic, with the hospital pressure that this entails, the start-up of this unit, with an investment of just over a million euros, demonstrates the firmness of the commitment acquired with the citizens of Cartagena ”. In this sense, the Deputy Mayor Noelia Arroyo explained that “we had a moral obligation to use Hemodynamics 24 hours a day, seven days a week and it has been possible thanks to the efforts of professionals and the will politics ”. It should be remembered that, until now, this unit performed 1,200 diagnostic procedures and cared for 645 patients per year. Likewise, Castej n recalled that “Health area 2 continues to need more services and investments to complete those currently available.
Without forgetting the importance of continuing to strengthen the Hospital del Rosell to comply with the law approved in the Regional Assembly in 2010 and offer Cartagena the health they deserve ”.
