| The UPCT surveys even reflect an increase in student satisfaction with postgraduate degrees | The outbreak of the pandemic in the middle of the last academic year forced the Polytechnic of Cartagena, like the rest of the face-to-face universities, to migrate its teaching modality towards online teaching in just one weekend.
As a consequence of such an effort, there has been an increase in academic performance and in the teaching satisfaction of students in the case of Master's degrees, which is linked “to their greater experience in the use of the telematic resources and tools that have been made available to them for this adapted learning process and to be well acquainted with the routines of university teaching ”, explains the vice-rector for Teaching Staff and Institutional Promotion, Luis Javier Lozano.
The management team of the UPCT has presented today to the Governing Council of the University the aggregated data by title of the teacher satisfaction surveys carried out in the past year, which ratify that the commitment of the Technical Policy By establishing a blended teaching model, it is based on the good performance of its teachers in this complex situation. In the case of master's degrees, the surveys reflect a notable increase in student satisfaction with student teaching, going from 7.5 to 8.2 in the assessment.
In the grades, satisfaction remained at the same figures as in the previous year in the case of third and fourth year subjects, but there was a drop of half a point in the case of students the first two courses. This course, the UPCT has opted for a blended teaching model, seeking greater attendance at the campuses of the students of the first years, as well as the practical sessions and problem solving.
The data presented by the Vice-Rector for Studies and International Relations show attendance rates that are in the range between 30 and 50% on average for all grades.
