| Cartagena has participated in the table of the new security axis in the DTIs, with the theme of "Safe Heritage", since It is the only municipality that has certified visitable heritage obtaining the "Safe Tourism Certified" seal | Last Wednesday, December 17, the inauguration of the IV Tourism Intelligence Conference took place in which the Region of Murcia, whose objective is to bet on tourist intelligence to reactivate the sector in a sustainable and safe way, and in which Cartagena is present and participating as a case of success with secure heritage.
The person in charge of inaugurating the event was the Minister of Tourism, Cristina S nchez A conference that took place throughout the day in the framework of the El Batel Auditorium and Conference Center in the port city, and which brought together almost 300 attendees between professionals and experts, with the aim of giving visibility to private experiences.
Critics of companies and destinations that have benefited from the application of innovation systems and the implementation of the Smart Tourist Destination (DTI) model. Cartagena has participated in the table of the new security axis in the DTI, specifically with the theme of "Safe Heritage", given that it is the only municipality that has certified visited heritage obtaining the "Safe Tourism Certified" seal, with the intervention of the Delegate Councilor for Tourism, Cristina P rez. It should be remembered that in September, nine tourist areas in Cartagena received the 'Safe Tourism Certified' certificate, granted by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE), to offer security against the coronavirus and maximum guarantees of risk prevention throughout the value chain of the tourism sector, among which are the Augusteum, the Casa de la Fortuna, the Panic Wall, the Barrio del Foro, the Castillo de la Concepci n, the Christmas Fort, the Civil War Museum Refuge, and the Town Hall, in addition to the tourist offices. The event brought together more than 250 professionals and about thirty experts in the field of technology, sustainability, accessibility, quality, safety and standardization, in a blended format, also counting with the participation of representatives of the General Subdirectorate for Sustainability Development (SETUR) of the Secretary of State for Tourism, and of the State Mercantile Society for the Management of Innovation and Technology Tur sticas (Segittur), among other institutions. Likewise, five working groups were developed that addressed issues such as the need to incorporate standardized management systems that allow reaffirming competitiveness and leadership, security as an axis to recover the confidence of tourists, universal accessibility in destinations, or the strategic commitment of smart destinations to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
