The Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena participated today in the Ordinary General Assembly of FERRMED, which was held online.
As Ana Correa, president of COEC, explained, "we are associated with FERRMED to continue working and supporting the development of such important infrastructures for the business fabric of the Campo de Cartagena region, such as the Mediterranean Corridor or the AVE".
In the General Assembly, the president of Coec has vindicated "the need for the arrival of the Mediterranean Corridor to Cartagena using the restructuring funds that represent a historic opportunity for these infrastructures to reach the Region once and for all.
".
Last July, COEC joined Ferrmed, a multisectoral group whose objective is to link Northern Europe to Southern Europe through a railway corridor that connects the areas with the greatest economic and logistics activity, especially enhancing the connections of ports and airports.
.
In this way, COEC wants to contribute to the improvement of European competitiveness through the association's standards.
These standards are: the enhancement of connections between ports and airports with their respective hinterlands; the promotion of the Great Railway Axis for goods Scandinavia-Rhine-Roina-Western Mediterranean; the consolidation, together with other associations, of the great vectors of progress of the European Union and neighboring countries and, consequently, a more sustainable development thanks to the reduction of pollution and gas emissions that affect climate change.
