| For several days it has been meeting to assess and choose the three finalists who will be announced next week | The jury of the ideas competition for the rehabilitation and adaptation of the Central Cinema meets these days to deliberate on the choice of the three finalist candidates, the first of which will be commissioned to write the project for a work whose estimated investment is 3 millions of euros.The general director of Cultural Assets, Rafael Gómez, who chairs the jury, attended its meeting this Friday at the Aguirre Palace, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, who emphasized the high number of proposals presented, 30 in total, which reflects "the importance of this great cultural infrastructure that has great strategic advantages for the city."In this way, Noelia Arroyo pointed out that the idea is “to create a cultural complex destined for cinema, the performing arts and culture, in addition to constituting a square of culture, with buildings of the importance of the MURAM, the Aguirre Palace and the square with Carthaginian and Roman remains ”.The university area will also be enriched with an installation that should have young people as the main audience, and the reconquest of the old town will continue to the east, along with projects such as the university residence of Sister Francisca Armendariz and the projects around Monte Sacro.The result of the jury's deliberation will be known at the end of next week, in compliance with the procedures set by the call.Remember that the jury, under the presidency of the General Director of Cultural Assets, is made up of municipal experts and the Ministry of Culture, as well as professionals of recognized competence.The winning proposal will receive a prize of 15,000 euros, while the second prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and the third prize amounts to 5,000 euros.
