President Yolanda Muñoz has informed the Board of Directors of the APC of the referral to Puertos del Estado of the profitability study for the acquisition of the lands of the ZAL of Cartagena. The Immediate Action Plan for Economic Recovery has launched 44 million euros corresponding to 29 projects in its first seven months since its presentation, which corresponds to 23 percent of the investments planned from 2020 to 2022, according to informed this morning by the president Yolanda Muñoz, in the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Cartagena. Muñoz has given an account of the situation of the planned works that "involves actions aimed at having better port infrastructures that allow us to continue positioning the Port of Cartagena as one of the most competitive Spanish ports and promote the economic activation of the companies of Cartagena and the Region of Murcia ”. Specifically, 12 actions are underway, representing more than 16.5 million euros in works, such as the extension of the pipe rack to El Fangal, the extension of the dock for LNG and livestock loading, conservation and maintenance of the actions carried out in Punta de Aguilones, the completion and beautification of the Alfonso XII dock, the refurbishment of the Grúa Sansón roundabout, the renovation of the Civil Guard facilities on the Santa Lucía dock and in the multipurpose building of Santa Lucía, the demolition of buildings and cleaning of the grounds of the old Peñarroya and characterization of the soil, as well as the winning project for Plaza Mayor. In addition, 4 projects are under bid for the retaining wall in Cala Cortina, actions in El Espalmador and the accesses to the Santa Lucía and San Pedro docks.
In addition, the president of the APC has advanced that 13 projects are being drafted to improve the infrastructures of the Escombreras and Cartagena docks and facilitate port traffic in their main docks. In this line of investment, the Board of Directors has approved four future actions, with a global tender budget of around 9.1 million euros, to provide the Port of Cartagena with up-to-date berthing facilities according to the type of traffic specific to each dock at the Liquid Bulk Terminal and at the Santa Lucía dock; and two technical assistance for the drafting of projects for the implementation of a Conservation and Maintenance Plan for the APC and GIS and BIM databases for the digital conversion of Ports 4.0.
Muñoz explained that "the Port is focused on a digital transformation project to become a more innovative port and increase its efficiency, sustainability, security and protection in the Spanish logistics-port sector." In the line of private investment in the Port, 2 companies, one in process and the other with an extension of execution of their started works, start up investments worth around € 30 million. On the other hand, we have proposed and approved palliative and economic relief measures for some port companies, which have requested it, in terms of growth traffic expectations that this year have been stagnant even affected by the coronavirus crisis and the evolution of markets, limited by reduced mobility, regulatory change, and the trend in the consumption of sustainable fuels.
The Council has also been informed of the definitive resolution of the City Port Commission for the granting of subsidies in CSR matters for an amount of 100,260 euros, which have involved the subsidy of 46 cultural, social, sports and health projects, with special sensitivity to those associations, entities and groups that are having a worse time with this pandemic and economic crisis.

" “We are talking about 3.5 million euros, which the Port Authority already has reserved with a specific item the General State Budgets for 2011, to execute the first phase of the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) with the installation of the Free Warehouse and the Integrated Transportation Center and space destined for logistics land for the expansion and growth of port activity, specifically, for solid bulk and agri-food, and of the business activity of Cartagena and the Region ”.
This study represents one more step for the purchase of the land from SEPES within the roadmap set at the last table of the ZAL with the Government of Spain, the regional government, the Cartagena City Council and businessmen.
