| The troops will join the staff of the municipalities of Cartagena, Abarán, Águilas, Los Alcázares, Alguazas, Alhama, Caravaca de la Cruz and Lorca | The Councilor for Citizen Security, Juan Pedro Torralba, has presided this morning, November 19, the graduation ceremony of the 39th promotion of Local Police officers, who have been trained at the School of Public Security of the City of Cartagena (ESPAC) .There are a total of 26 men and women who, as of today, will serve in eight municipalities in the Region which, in addition to Cartagena, where 1 new agent will join, are Abarán, who will have 5 new police officers; Águilas, with 6; Los Alcázares, with 2; Alguazas, with 3; Alhama, with 4; Caravaca de la Cruz, with 3 and Lorca with 2.After congratulating them on their graduation, during the act Torralba encouraged them to carry out their work with "the professionalism and sensitivity they have shown during these months of training at ESPAC" and reminded them that "this has been a different course, already that the health crisis that is affecting all areas of our lives has also meant a delay in training and therefore in this graduation ceremony.
This pandemic is posing a challenge for everyone, but it has also given you extraordinary learning that will make you indispensable members of the workforce that you will be part of from now on ”.The course has been structured in two phases, one theoretical and the other practical.
"A total of 1,000 teaching hours have been offered", explained the director of ESPAC, Manuel Asensio, who also recalled that "the subjects have been mainly related to traffic, criminal and administrative law, as well as issues of data protection, social skills, gender violence, social care, personal defense, police driving and weapons and shooting practices ".The event was also attended by the mayor of Alguazas, Silvia Ruiz Serna, and her local police chief inspector, Francisco Pellicer; the chief inspector of Abarán, Isabel Guardiola Sánchez; the Mayor of Los Alcázares, Mario Pérez Cervera, and the Councilor for Citizen Security, Pedro José Sánchez; the Councilor for Citizen Security of Águilas, Tomás Consentino López, and the chief commissioner, José Antonio García; the chief inspector of the Local Police of Caravaca, Juan Moya; the mayor of Alhama, Mariola Guevara, together with the local police councilor, Felipe García, and the chief commissioner, José Alfonso Toral.The mayor of Citizen Security has also had words of thanks to the director and the entire ESPAC team, “which during these 12 years of activity have made our public security school a benchmark in the training of both Local Police officers, as from Firefighting Services and Civil Protection Volunteers, and not only in Cartagena, but also in the rest of the Region ”.
