´La Penumbra´ wins the main prize of the VI horror shorts exhibition of the T-LA program (18/11/2020)

| This is the second short film directed by the author Dani Viqueira and this edition has been endowed with a total of 500 euros | The VI Exhibition of Horror Short Films 'En Ocasiones Veo Cortos', organized by the Alternative Free Time Program (T-LA) of the Youth Council, has awarded its main prize, endowed with 500 euros, to the short film 'La Penumbra' .This edition, which was planned to take place in the premises of the Fundación Mediterráneo-Aula CAM on Calle Mayor de Cartagena, had to adapt to the new restrictions for health reasons, and this time it has not been able to count on the vote of the attending public but by a jury, made up of municipal technicians and monitors from youth associations, such as the La Palma Youth Platform.Once the selected short films had been viewed, the jury held a virtual meeting on Saturday November 14 to decide the winner of this new and different edition, which turned out to be, by an absolute majority of the votes cast, the director's short film 'La Penumbra' Dani Viqueira.The Councilor for Youth, David Martínez Noguera, congratulates the author "that since he made his first short, 'Limbo', in 2018 he has not stopped reaping successes and that with 'La Penumbra' he continues to consolidate himself as a magnificent director in this genre" .ABOUT THE WINNER SHORT'La Penumbra' is a 13-minute short film that tells the story of Laura who is studying for the opposition in her medical specialty.

She has no time for her husband's hypochondria, nor for her children's fights, but when everything goes dark and Laura enters the gloom, all she will have is time.Dani Viqueira (A Coruña, 1983) studied Filmmaking and Image at the Escola de Imaxe e Son de A Coruña and a Master's degree in editing and post-production at the Trazos School in Madrid.

His first short film 'Limbo', which was nominated in 140 festivals around the world, is currently nominated for the Méliès d'or and managed to qualify for the Goya Awards 2021.

'La Penumbra' is his second directing short film.
