The Cartagena City Council has already contracted the paving works of this enclave that constitutes the first door to the city from the highway.The works, which will have an execution period of 15 days from the signing of the reconsideration act, have been awarded for a budget of 48,311.37 euros.In this way, the works include milling the surface of the deteriorated layer and the removal of material; the installation of a 4 cm layer of hot asphalt agglomerate in the intermediate layer; 6 cm layer of hot asphalt agglomerate rolling; the grazing of tapas and the painting of the square.“The Plaza de Alicante is an area with a lot of vehicle traffic as it is one of the main accesses to the city and the connection between the highway and the Paseo de Alfonso XIII, and this influx of vehicles has led to a degradation of the pavement, which presents irregularities ”, explained the Councilor for Public Roads, Juan Pedro Torralba."The state of the pavement is not adequate at the moment, but with these works, which will be able to be carried out in a very short period of time, we will be able to level the surface, which will contribute to improving road safety in the area" underlined Juan Pedro Torralba.
