| The Cartagena formation will take this initiative to the Plenary of the Neighborhood Board to be held tomorrow | The towns in the northern part of the municipality such as Pozo Estrecho, La Palma, Miranda and El Albujón have about 16,000 inhabitants, of which 29% are people over 65 years of age, who progressively require dependent benefits and services that they have to receive in the day centers of Los Dolores and El Algar, places far from their usual residences. Faced with this situation, MC Cartagena, through its member José María Navarro Cayuela, will request, during the Plenary Session of the Pozo Estrecho Neighborhood Board held tomorrow, Monday, the support of the rest of the groups to urge the local government to start the procedures, in coordination with the Murcian Institute of Social Action (IMAS), for the preparation of a project and subsequent start-up of a Day Center for the north of the municipality, which would be located in Pozo Estrecho. Regarding the location, Navarro Cayuela has indicated that "Pozo Estrecho, in addition to having enough land to house this building, is the territorial epicenter of the rest of the towns in the area, all of which are located at a distance of less than ten kilometers from our town". In addition, the MC member explained that the number of older people in the northern area is around "4,500 people, of which about 250 receive some economic benefit or service in residential dependency, home help, telecare and day care ", which has motivated the promotion of this initiative so that they do not have to move outside their environment, something that makes it difficult to access the services they require. Other initiatives In another vein, MC Cartagena will be interested, during the development of the aforementioned Plenary, in other matters of interest such as the improvement of vertical signage in Pozo Estrecho; the future use that will be given to the property occupied by the current headquarters of the Local Police when the new premises are inaugurated; the deficiencies in the bridges of the Neighborhood Board; the need to carry out a maintenance action in the Los Navarros area; the municipal registration of the green area of ??almost 4 thousand square meters located between Avenida del Agua and Misiones streets, as well as the improvement of lighting in the Casas Nuevas area.
