The NAVANTIA Shipyard in Cartagena has carried out the necessary controls and tests to power up the submarine S-81 'Isaac Peral', that is, to pass the ship's first safety milestone. Power-up constitutes the first moment in which the ship is electrically energized and consists of starting up the main and emergency electrical distribution networks, which will allow the gradual and progressive electrification of all the submarine's equipment, in order to to check its correct operation, both individually and its integration with the rest of the equipment. This milestone represents an important step in the execution of this submarine construction program.
The program consists of the construction of four units for the Spanish Navy, the first of which will be launched during the spring of 2021, as planned.
