| The Local Government Board approves a campaign to promote and stimulate local commerce | The Local Government Board, which met today under the presidency of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has given the go-ahead to a campaign to promote and stimulate local commerce to help businessmen to face the crisis generated by the COVID-19.The campaign, which is launched in collaboration with the Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena and the Region (COEC), has a municipal funding of 40,000 euros.The aim is to promote purchases in local commerce among citizens with different raffles, such as a car valued at 12,500 euros or gift vouchers of between 25 and 100 euros.“We want to support from all possible areas.

This is one more of the aids that we are implementing and with which we hope to help stimulate sales ”, highlighted the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.Within the COVID aid, the Department of Culture is going to make a budget modification of 38,632 euros to continue developing new cultural activities that support the cultural sector punished by the current health and economic crisis.SUPPRESSION OF STEPS AT FEVE LEVEL On the other hand, the Local Government Board has also given its approval to the suppression of the level crossings of the railway line of Vía Estrecha (FEVE), El Abrevadero and La Hoya, in the county of Alums and Vista Alegre .These level crossings are at kilometer points 4,105 and 4,635.“With these works, the Ministry of Development complies with the commitment it had with the City Council and responds to an old neighborhood demand, such as the abolition of level crossings.

In June it already announced the award of the contract for the drafting of the works project for the suppression of the level crossing of Pozo Estrecho and La Palma and now it is FEVE's turn.

But we are not satisfied, we are going to continue fighting to suppress the level crossing of Los Mateos because it is also very necessary, "said the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.This work is part of the Plan of the Ministry of Development for the suppression of level crossings until 2024.NEW EDITION OF STRINGS AND METALS The Local Government Board has also approved this morning the call for the 23rd edition of Between Strings and Metals, which is called by the Youth Council and which had to be suspended this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.This call is endowed with 65,500 euros and includes 8 modalities: piano, string, woodwind, metalwind, percussion, plucked string, chamber music and voice.Students who are studying professional music education in any of these modalities can be presented.Likewise, the Governing Board has approved a generation of credit of 10,000 euros for an income that Repsol has made for the promotion of Sports in the County Council of Alums and Vista Alegre, and the Strategic Subsidy Plan for the years 2021 and 2022.
