The municipal government of Cartagena, chaired by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has held a meeting this afternoon in which it has studied and evaluated the measures that it will implement after the declaration of the State of Alarm by the Government of Spain that entails the confinement of citizens between 11 at night and six in the morning and the restrictive measures that the regional government has announced regarding the limitation of activities and capacity in order to flatten the curve of infections by COVID19Castejón has announced that among these first measures adopted at the municipal level is to keep the cultural and leisure facilities open until ten at night.It has also indicated the reinforcement and establishment of a special device of the Local Police to comply with the restrictions imposed by the central and regional governments, in coordination with the State Security Forces and Forces, Civil Protection and Firefighters.

This reinforcement would be carried out especially in the afternoons when a greater presence of citizens is detected in the streets.The mayor has also announced the extension until January of the measures agreed for teleworking municipal employees that ended on October 31, with the aim of guaranteeing the provision of public services and the health of officials.Castejón explained that these three measures represent a first step and that they will be subject to the evolution of the pandemic, if the situation in Cartagena becomes more complicated or the contagion curve flattens.The mayor has warned that the measures could be hardened or even made more flexible if the citizens' behavior is exemplary and improves the situation.
