The purchase is part of a program to modernize the fleet of coastal cleaning vehicles.Among the works in progress is the new led lighting of three streets in El Carmolí, which involves the creation of a new one in the electricity supply network, the installation of a score of new street lamps and the replacement of the luminaires with technology lamps led in Montes Pirineos, Monte Carmolí and Monte Igueldo streets. In addition, this Thursday began the works to improve the road surface in various streets of Islas Menores that were very deteriorated and that respond to a neighborhood demand.
With a budget of 46,595.10 euros, awarded to the company PAVASAL, the tasks consist of repairing the pavement and the sections of sidewalks that will improve road traffic in this area. The commission has also dealt with the tender this week by the Ministry of the Environment for the works for more than 730,000 euros for the waterproofing and repair of five kilometers of the Cartagena sanitation network in the Mar Menor, whose objective is prevent both the filtration of the sanitation networks towards the Mar Menor, as well as the entrance to the brackish water networks from the water table.
The competition is open until November and the works have an execution period of three months.CONCERNThe vice mayor has expressed the municipal government's concern over the recent statements by the Secretary of State, Hugo Morán, questioning the construction of the north collector provided for in the Zero Waste Plan.“After years of doing nothing we see that, now, the secretary of state himself announces that the most important of the works planned to reduce the entry of water from the groundwater into the Mar Menor will not be carried out.
Arroyo has indicated. The vice mayor also explained that "we know that the main problem of the Sea is the entry of fresh water from the water table.
It is very high even in times without rain.
The pumping of the Albujón is insufficient and the experts warn us that only a drainage like the one that has been projected can prevent it.
It makes no sense to question that investment when there is no alternative, because to go back is to condemn the Mar Menor to more years of inaction, and it cannot wait.
