| This is an action framed within the Energy Efficiency Improvement Plan | The Department of Infrastructure of the Cartagena City Council has installed 132 new LED lights to improve three main streets and avenues in the northern neighborhoods of the city.
It is an action framed within the Energy Efficiency Improvement Plan.Specifically, “47 luminaires have been renovated on Avenida de Colón, 59 on Avenida Juan Carlos I and Calle Floridablanca, which means an improvement in lighting that will also increase road safety in an area where vehicle circulation is elevated, as it connects Los Dolores, Urbanización Mediterráneo and Nueva Cartagena with the city center ”, reported the councilor of the Area, María Casajús.With a budget of about 70,000 euros, framed within the public lighting maintenance contract, Casajús has highlighted that “the works respond to a demand from the residents of the area and a commitment from the Government to the environment, reducing light pollution and energy consumption, which goes from 33,000 watts to 7,090 watts, which also means significant savings for municipal coffers and an improvement in energy efficiency ".All the actions to improve public lighting are included in the Sustainable Climate and Energy Action Plan (PACES) for reducing the carbon footprint in the municipality of Cartagena and follow planning.
