The Cartagena City Council will take out the work in the next few days to be contracted, which will include different measures of attention to the public and security in the accesses to the building.The project, which has a budget of just over 81,000 euros, will have an execution period of one month.
Thus, the works include the installation of a security arch and scanner at the entrance to the building from Calle San Miguel, as well as a citizen information office with two public service stations that will also be located at the entrance to the site and From which two municipal employees will clarify doubts to the neighbors who require it when they go to the administrative building to carry out their procedures.In addition, the works will allow the adaptation of a waiting room so that the people of Cartagena can wait comfortably while they are treated, and respecting the security measures that are imposed by the health situation.
In this way, in addition to the adequate furniture for this, the new waiting room will have two screens indicating the numbers issued for each of the services on the ground floor.In turn, new signage will be installed that will offer information about the different services that the San Miguel administrative building houses, as well as explanatory screens for citizen service and confirmation of previous appointments."All these actions are carried out with the intention of helping citizens as much as possible and adapting to their needs when they go to the local administration to carry out formalities," said the Councilor for General Services, Alejandra Gutiérrez.“With this reform, which is added to other investments that have been carried out after the start of the pandemic caused by Covid-19, we improve care for people from Cartagena, we increase their privacy while they carry out inquiries and procedures and we guarantee the health security in the current circumstances ”, Gutiérrez stressed.OTHER PREVIOUS WORKS This work is in addition to several investments made in recent months in the administrative building, in order to adapt citizen care to new health circumstances.
Thus, after the confinement, Alejandra Gutiérrez recalls that the General Services Delegation has undertaken several actions to guarantee the safety distance, avoiding unnecessary waiting and queues.Specifically, the space in the customer service offices has been redistributed, increasing the safety distance between posts and installing security screens, and a system for managing prior appointments that operates 24 hours a day was recently launched.
