| The works will be screened during the week of the festival | This year, the 49th edition of the Cartagena International Film Festival broke its participation record, receiving more than seven hundred entries to compete in its two contest sections.

Finally, the festival has selected 14 short films for the OFFICIAL SECTION (national and international shorts) and 10 for MURCINE (short films by directors from the Region of Murcia), and all of them will be screened during the week of the festival, which will take place from 22 to November 28, 2020 in Cartagena.The short films of the OFFICIAL SECTION will compete for the 3,000 euros with which the Best Short Film is awarded and, in addition, there will be recognitions for the Best Direction, Photography, Screenplay and Interpretation.

On the other hand, in the MURCINE section, the first prize 'Cartagena City Silver Caravel' is endowed with 1,500 euros, while the second, the 'Peral Submarine', is endowed with 500 euros.
