| The Local Police participates in this DGT campaign, which will take place in Cartagena between October 12 and 18 | The Local Police of Cartagena collaborates with the General Directorate of Traffic in the new Special Campaign for the surveillance and control of trucks and buses that will be launched from October 12 to 18.The objective of this action is based on controlling the vehicles for the transport of goods and people in a series of aspects, such as speed, alcohol and drugs, use of the seat belt, hours of driving and rest, tachograph, excess weight, safety of the transported load, documentation of the vehicle and driver and technical defects of the vehicle.According to national data registered by the DGT, during the last campaign of this type, which was carried out last February, complaints of excess driving hours were the most numerous.
Specifically, 1,976 complaints were processed for violations related to driving times (1,953 for trucks and 23 for buses).With these campaigns, people at the wheel are reminded that excess driving time can generate fatigue and distractions, increasing the risk of suffering or causing an accident.
