| For the first time, part of the aid foreseen in the call is specifically directed to carrying out small works to adapt the facilities | The Cartagena City Council has approved the bases for the announcement of subsidies directed to sports entities and associations among which 562,000 euros will be distributed.
This amount, which increases by 12,000 euros that of the previous call, will be used to attend the sports projects of the entities that, despite the interruption of the competitions, must face the greater expenses imposed by compliance with the requirements and measures to avoid contagion by Covid, according to the vice mayor and head of the Sports area, Noelia Arroyo.For the first time, part of the aid foreseen in the call is directed specifically to carrying out small works to adapt the facilities, as established in the concession bases approved by the Governing Board.Arroyo explained that, in addition to the fixed costs of equipment, federation licenses, arbitrations or travel, "the Covid is imposing rigorous regulations that will increase spending on organizing training, competitions and when taking measures against contagion .
That is why we increased the allocation for this season to 562,000 euros and, in addition, a specific amount of 40,000 euros is established so that the clubs can carry out small works in the facilities they use ”.The aid, which will be distributed through the competitive competition procedure, reached a total of 104 Cartagena clubs in the previous call.
“These grants reach thousands of Cartagena, mostly young people, through more than a hundred clubs that receive the grants.
They belong to all sports disciplines, majority sports and minority sports, but they all work to promote grassroots sports and, therefore, for health and the values ??that sports practice provides and teaches ”, according to the deputy mayor.
